Safety Training for Construction Companies

OHSA Regulations

OSHA REGULATIONS STATE: The employer shall insure that each operator is competent to operate the equipment .

There are rules that must be followed under OSHA regulations to insure that this training is documented correctly.

Southwest Missouri Safety Co. LLC follows these regulations.

Trainer Certifications

Ron Hinds is an Ives Mobile Equipment Master Instructor. He has certified over 500 employees in the safe operation of all types of equipment.

Mobile Equipment Training

The OSHA rules apply to all equipment operated by operators.

It is the responsibility of the employer to insure that
all employees that operate equipment are properly trained.

Equipment that we will certify operators:

  • Industrial Forklifts
  • All track loaders
  • Rough Terrain Forklifts
  • Scrapers
  • Boom lifts
  • Dozers
  • Scissor lifts
  • Drills
  • Boom Trucks
  • Air tools
  • Backhoes
  • Trenchers
  • Front-end loaders
  • Skid steers

Training consists of:

  • Classroom instruction
  • Testing
  • Evaluation

Training time

  • Approximately 8 hrs

Re-Certification

  • Required every 3 years

Training site

  • Can be your job site or a site selected by SWMS

Costs

  • Are regulated according to the extent of training and number of employees

Job Specific safe operation training is also available on certain equipment.

REASONABLE PERSON TRAINING

OSHA requires that all employees that are involved in excavations deeper than 5 ft. be certified as a reasonable person.

Trainer Certifications

Ron Hinds is a National Underground Contractor Association Instructor.(NUCA)

Class Completion

  • Each employee that successfully completes the class will receive a NUCA card.

Training time

  • Approximately 8 hrs

Re-Certification

  • Required every 3 years

Costs

  • Cost will depend on size of class

CONFINED SPACE TRAINING

OSHA defines a Confined Space as have a limited access or egress but is large enough for the whole body to enter and not designed for continuous occupancy.

Trainer Cerifications

Ron is also a NUCA instructor for Confined Space.

Class Completion

  • Each employee that successfully completes the class will receive a NUCA card.

Training time

  • Approximately 8 hrs

Re-Certification

  • Required every 3 years

  • Cost will depend on size of class

Ron Hinds is one of only 2 instructors for the
National Underground Contractors Association listed in Missouri.

FIRST AID / CPR TRAINING

Every company needs to have their employees trained in First Aid / CPR for the safety of all the other employees and to be in compliance with OSHA regulations.

Trainer Certifications

Ron Hinds is an AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION INSTRUCTOR

Class Instruction

  • First Aid class can be held at your location or a location convenient for your employees.
  • CPR can also be held at your location or a location convenient for your employees.
  • CPR for infant is also available and recommended for all CPR classes.
  • All material are include with manikins and supplies

Class Completion

  • Each student will receive a card from AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION

Re-Certification

  • Recommended every 2 years for FIRST AID
  • Recommended every year for CPR

Training time

  • Approximately 2.5 hours according to number of students
  • Class is limited to 8

Location

  • First Aid class can be held at your location or a location convenient for your employees.
  • CPR can also be held at your location or a location convenient for your employees.

Costs

  • Cost will depend on size of class
